Hello all. I know this post has nothing at all to do with tech of any sort, but I just wanted to let you guys in on something.
As some of you know, I have huge tonsils. I have literally been sick every month since December. I went to the Doctor about a month ago, and he said my tonsils were giant. So he gave me these pills to take for about a month, that are supposed to shrink my tonsils. Surprisingly, it’s been a month already, and I am heading back to the doctor next week.
I’m not positively sure wether or not they have been working, but I’m not completely sure if they have. What I’m guessing is that if it hasn’t been working, I will have to get my tonsils taken out.
So I just wanted to give you guys a warning, incase I’m inactive next week. The appointment is on Wednesday, so I shall find out then.
Wish me luck!

As some of you may know, I moved my iMac downstairs. Since it is Summer, a lot of my family is always downstairs, because we have the kitchen, family room, our game room (with Wii and such). I have always been upstairs on the computer, when everyone else is downstairs. I decided to move my computer downstairs to the kitchen so that I could be closer to my family.
Surprisingly, since I’ve moved my computer downstairs, I didn’t go on it 24/7. I was more into doing stuff with my Mom and brother. The only time I’ve gone on it really was to edit a video, chat with some friends, and then I would get off maybe 10 minutes later. (Another reason why I’ve enjoyed it downstairs is because I had better access to the kitchen. XD )
Last night while my brother had a friend over, I decided to move it upstairs again. I like it, but what I’m afraid is that when school comes around again, I would have wished I kept it downstairs. Later today I will be maybe moving it back downstairs, and then when school is back, I shall move it back up.
I know this is a very random post, and I apologize for that. But what do you guys do? Do you have your Mac in your room or with the family? Do you enjoy it and why?

Now, here is my plan. Now that it is summer, I have much free time on my hands. Besides for the homeschooling I am doing to keep up with my work, I plan to spend some time to write. I have always enjoyed writing, and now with my blog, I plan to share it with the world.
So this is just a saying to you guys, that I am coming back. I am still staying off Twitter (mostly- I just plan to tweet when I blog), and I will not be posting YouTube videos. Sorry for the inconvenience to all of you out there.
In other news, happy summer!

Everyone has their own little OCD. Sometimes it’s your locker, your room, your kitchen, anywhere! Now in my case, my OCD is my Mac, my House, and especially my room. It’s very hard for me to work in a cluttered area.
One of the reasons I like to keep everything nice and neat, is because it is hard for me to concentrate. If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I always like to clean my room before I start my homework or any of that stuff. I do that, because if I don’t do it before my homework, I’ll just be thinking Gotta clean, gotta clean and then eventually get up and clean it. Everyone tells me, “Wow, your room must be really messy to clean it so much.” That’s not my case, usually when I’m cleaning, I’m just putting some stuff away and picking a few things up.
Another reason is because it’s easier. Being organized helps me keep track of all of my stuff, which makes everything easier. Instead of searching for my Math book, I can just reach into my shelf and grab it. Being organized makes life easier.
I know this is a random post, but I figured it might be able to inspire a few of my readers to be organized. If it did help you, please tell me! Thanks!

Wallet is a great application. It’s very handy and can be used just like a real wallet. In our case, you can keep passwords, serials, and credit card information. Let’s check it out:
Protection: Now, we all don’t want everyone who goes on your computer (especially if you share one) to gain access to all your passwords and serials. So you can set Wallet so when you first open it you have to enter a password. It’s great to protect other people from getting into all your stuff!

Design: Wallet has a great design. Very simple and easy to use. On the far left side, is where you can choose from your serials, passwords, or credit card info. Then, in the middle, you can choose your App for let’s say your Serial. You choose your application and then you see the serial! Simple as that.

Entering a Serial: With Wallet, it’s very easy to keep track of all of your serials, so you don’t have to go digging through your emails to find it. You can enter the serial, then the name its under, and then the developers info and such. Very easy and keeps all the info you need when you are registering an application.

That’s Wallet! It’s a great application from Acrylic Software. Go check it out here and download the 14 day trial there too. Enjoy!

Hey everyone! sorry for not writing in a while, I’ve been super duper busy with school and my big Medieval Market (which was over on Friday). Now that it’s over, I want to dedicate more time to working and writing. So for a comeback post, I decided to use a blog post that Glenn Wolsey written a while back (http://tinyurl.com/cctccp). So here we go!
1. A Great Comfy Chair
Everyone needs a good chair to keep them focused, and on the job. You should also have something that keeps your back straight and head forward. Even though laying back and relaxing is nice, it is not good when your typing an essay or such. I recommend something with arm rests, because they are comfy for when your keyboard is really close to you.

2. A Good Keyboard and Mouse
When your working, you can’t be fiddling around with your mouse’s battery, or a stuck key on your keyboard. You always need to have a good sturdy keyboard and mouse set. I would always recommend Apple’s Mighty Mouse and Keyboard. They have a variety of keyboard’s from wired to wireless now, so you can pick your choice!

3. Good Music!
Really not much to say here. It’s always great to have your favorite music playing in the background while working to keep you going.
4. Good Lighting!
When your working, you should never be working in the dark. That’s why you should have a good lamp on your desk to keep your eyes awake and to make everything easy to read. It’s also better on your eyes!

5. Focused Environment
Everyone knows how hard it is to stay focused in a loud, cluttered, and busy environment. You should close your door if there is noise, or put on headphones. It’s extremely hard to focus in that kind of background (Trust me).
So there you go! I know some of those you can’t really buy, but they’re just some good tips.
Enjoy!

Hey everyone. How is everybody doing this week? Well I got one heck of program for you. It’s called Awaken by EmbraceWare. What is Awaken exactly? Well let me show you.
Awaken is an Alarm Clock program. It allows you to make Alarm Clock’s, timers, and more. I have to say, it’s Great!
Interface: Awaken has a very clean, very nice looking Interface. It’s very simple, yet has everything you need.
You can change the color of the clock at the top (as you can see I chose green). It’s very sleek and appealing.
Alarm Clock:

The main use of Awaken is using it to make your own alarm clocks. When you are making your alarm clock there are many settings to choose from. When your choosing your alarm, you can choose what you want to wake up to. Awaken comes with 13 built in ringers. Then you can also have Awaken wake up to your iTunes music. You can have it set to a certain playlist, or just have it on shuffle. Then you can even have it open up an application, or have it start playing a Podcast. Let’s say your making a school alarm, you can set it to have the Alarm open on Mon. – Fri.
The interface of the Full Screen alarm is great. It makes me think of a giant iPod.
It’s very much like Front Row. As you can see there are a few choices at the bottom. You can either Stop the Alarm and go to your Mac’s Desktop, Snooze for 10 minutes, or change the song. It’s very nice, and then you can even use your Apple Remote to change the song.
You like? You should! Awaken is a great App that I use weekly for school. Check it out at http://embraceware.com and if you buy Awaken now, it’s a free upgrade to Awaken 5!

I made a video on this not too long ago (check it out at www.youtube.com/ChrisMarieG) but a common thing people have been asking me is how to get little Drawers on my Stacks in my dock.
It’s very simple and fun to do, so here you go and enjoy!
1. Download the Drawer icons from here.
2. Download the program XTaste from here.
3. Pop open XTaste and search for the program Stacks In Da Place and download it.

4. Now open up Stacks In Da Place and make sure you have a stack highlighted on the left bar.

5. Drag a drawer picture from the site and drag it to the picture on the right and then press Apple Icon. Your dock will reset and will be all pretty! And if it does not work, right click on the stack and make sure on Display it is on Stack.
Hope you guys have fun with this little trick and enjoy! Don’t be afraid to email me a picture of what your dock look’s like right now, so send to chris@chrismarie.com
Thanks!
